Carlton Hair and Davines: Trends, Treatments and Tips!

Carlton Hair hosted a launch at their flagship Hyde Park store recently, to fill us in on hair trends and introduce us to a new treatment from Davines, called the replumping treatment!

David Gilson, master stylist extraordinaire took time out of his busy schedule to fill us in on what's hot and happening in the hair world.

From flamboyage to ammonia free permanent colour, Davines has thought of it all.

Two of my favourite trends were the "K Pop" (Korean Pop) modeled by Tamara Dey and "So 90's" modeled by Lalla Hirayama. There were also styles such as "Barbie Honolulu", which is a faux bob look, and "Surfer Girl", which is a textured and casual look.

Let me tell you a bit about Carlton Hair in Hyde Park... Do you need eyelash extensions, nails, threading or waxing done? Well get over to Hyde Park Carlton Hair. Do you want to lie down on a super comfy bed while your hair gets washed or treated? Head over to Carlton Hyde Park, it is a one of a kind salon! There is also soon to be a blow dry bar!

Now, onto the treatment. We were invited for a replumping moisturising treatment, and my stylist was Master Stylist, Master Trainer, Master Colourist and Artistic team member for Carlton Hair, Kim Franklin. Pretty impressive right?

The treatment is hydrating and elasticising for all hair types, add the micro mist which increases the absorption and makes you feel like you are at a spa, what is not to love?

Kim decided my hair was a bit too cold/harsh in colour, and wanted to warm the colour up a bit. She used Davines' ammonia free tint, there was no strong chemical smell, no burning eyes, a lovely way to permanently colour your hair without damaging it.

Time to rinse off, enter heaven...

All I needed to do was lie down on the bed, to wash my hair, how amazing is that? I usually feel so uncomfortable at the wash basins, but here I was completely relaxed. The treatment was then applied, the shampoo, conditioner and hair filler superactive. Then the mist was put on, the smell of the mist is so relaxing, it contains essential oils, and is good for your skin too. And eventually I had to get up off the bed to get my hair styled. Kim did a bit of trimming, and then dried and styled my hair, and applied the Davines Oi. What a scent, like perfume, with hair moisturising properties!

My hair felt so soft, light, and moisturised after my treatment, and I was really pleased with the results. The best thing about this treatment, well, beside lying in a misty euphoria, is that there are at home replumping products, so you can continue to treat your hair in the comfort of you own home.

Give your hair a treat, and replump. The treatment is available at all Carlton Hair Salons, but the lie down basins, are only available at Hyde Park, so get on a plane, train or bus and get down to Hyde Park to try it!

I will leave you with two tips from Kim herself:
Don't sleep with your hair loose, put it in a loose bun or plait (I was guilty of this)
Use Invisibobbles, I use mine for buns now too! Rubybox has some cute new pastel colours.

Have a good plump hair day!
