Goodbye South Africa, See you soon!

I am finally packed and ready to go...

My flight leaves tomorrow, we will be flying to Thailand for a few days, then Singapore for a few days, and then back to Thailand for about ten days...

Here are a few snaps of my messy packing.

I love taking samples for travelling, saves so much of space!

The mess of what I need to take!

My pink suitcase, and my Thai Airways loyalty card!

Deciding on outfits

Most importantly, my make up bag!

I will be back on the 16th, with plenty of photos, and new buys!

Style36 Beauty Box Unpacked!

I received my beauty box last week, and the value was indeed around R500! Unfortunately, the item that made up the majority of the value (R235), the Yves Rocher wrinkle filler serum is useless to me, because fortunately I do not have wrinkles yet!

I received a 50ml Uriage Sun Cream, perfect for the holiday season!
Essence nail polish in a stunning army green with a slight shimmer, called Walk on the wild side
A metallic purple Yardley nail polish called Enchanted Eye.
Perfume sample from Vera Wang- Princess
Two Dr Organic samples
Samples from Dr. Miracle
Lastly, an Yves Rocher wrinkle filling serum.

The thing about beauty boxes, is that unless all the items are generic, and not for specific age groups, hair types and skin types, a beauty profile needs to be filled out, so that you receive items suited to you!

So, the box is a miss for me unfortunately...

What are your thoughts?

Style36 Beauty Box- Christmas Edition!

Style36 is known for amazing fashion and beauty items! I have spent way too many hours browsing, and way too much money buying...

This brings me to my latest buy, the beauty box...

I love beauty boxes, I am a loyal Rubybox subscriber and I love the monthly surprise.

Style36 has done a beauty box before, a long time ago, and another one is long overdue. If the last one was anything to go by, this will be totally worth my R99!

The last beauty box by Style36 was filled with luxury samples, and even full size items!

This years Christmas Edition Box is said to be worth R500! Check out the box HERE

This image from the website is for illustration purposes only, but I do believe this box will be a pleasant surprise!

I just ordered mine today, so I will do an unboxing in the next few days.

And a plea to Style36 to do these beauty boxes more often... If not once a month, at least a couple of times a year! Thank you kindly :)

Please comment if you have bought the box, and what your thoughts are...

P.S. My real job has been taking up much of my time, so I am sorry for the lack of posts, as well as the quality of the posts I have written.

Happy Shopping!

Unboxing November Rubybox

I love getting my monthly surprise from Rubybox

My Rubybox this month had a perfume by Armani, Shield Deo, a gorgeous nail polish by Jorja, and Esse face cream sample and Yves Rocher eye cream samples.

I am really looking forward to trying the nail polish, as you may know it is a slight addiction of mine. Esse is always a winner for organic skincare. And Armani is a hit for fragrances, Armani Mania is my fave!

My boutique orders were also delivered, which was this collection of Stila lip glazes!
Rubybox had a special to choose three hair care samples with your order, which was an extra incentive to buy the lipglazes.

I chose Batiste dry shampoo, which is so useful, and a must for me! It creates volume and extends the life of your hairstyle. Phillip Kingsley shampoo is out of my price range, so I was super excited to get this! And the Marrakesh Oil range from Schwarzkopf is affordable and makes my hair soft and silky. Since my bf and I are travelling to Thailand and Singapore samples always come in handy, and leave enough space for all the shopping I intend to do!

Style36 now stocks Essence!

I was super excited this morning, when I went on to Style36 to see what new beauty products they have... And I see a huge Essence collection!

They have nail polishes, eye makeup and lip glosses! They have the sparkle sand effect textured polishes, which I bought from Dischem a while ago.

This is so convenient, because of the free delivery, and the lack of stock of Essence at Dischem most of the time. Now I can just click and shop...

Are you as excited as me?

P.S. The photos do not match the description in a few of the nail polishes, so do keep that in mind... (I know this because I have too many Essence polishes!) So rather Google a swatch of the name before buying it.

Revlon Mad about Mango and LA Girl Sands of time

For this manicure I used Revlon "Mad about mango" and LA Girls "Sands of time".

The Revlon polish is scented, and smells so yummy and fruity once applied to nails. The polish is quite thin and applies well. It dries fairly quickly, and I applied two coats of it. The LA Girl polish is amazing! It applies really well, this is two coats. It is a sparkly sand texture that applies really well.

At first I just did an accent nail, and then I decided to add half moons.

Hot off the shelf

Essence has certainly extended their range, so I had to pick up a few new nail goodies!

LA Girl also had a few products that I had to have!

So these are the products I came home with:

Essence Sparkle Sand Effect polishes in "Me and my Lover" and "Here's my number"
Essence Paper Print, there is the transfer fluid, and then the actual paper. There are 4 different boxes, which each come with 6 different designs.
LA Girl Sand Blast in "Quick Sand" and "Sands of Time"

All of these are available at Dischem, and are very reasonably priced!

I can't wait to try them all, and will be sure to swatch them soon!

Nails of the day

My manicure today was inspired by Nails by ChiChi and RevlonSA.

I used Essence in Hazelnut Cream Pie, and Revlon Grape.

I tried two looks for this manicure, with and without lines.

Which do you prefer?
