Happy Black and Gold Wedgeday Ladies!

Happy Wedgeday, that means the week is nearly over, and so is May!

I think this is my last summerish wedge, by that I mean open toes and open foot. Although I would love to wear this in winter, since the colours would be perfect, but I might just freeze my toes off.

I bought this wedge from Mr Price a while ago, and I think I have worn it once or twice. It is super comfy, and I just love it! You can basically pair it with anything, who doesn't love some black and gold!

What do you think?

My MAC Haul from the new collections

If you happened to see my Fancying Friday post on the new MAC collections HERE, then you will know I had an extensive wishlist!

My BF was very sweet to join me on Friday night at MAC in Sandton City to have a look at the new collections as soon as they were launched. Apparently I was the first in store to buy from the collection. Obsessed much!

He was even sweet enough to offer me his hand to swatch, since I ran out of space on both my hands and arms!

I finally, after much deliberation settled on 6 products, at least one from each collection.

From the Alluring Aquatic collection I bought the extra dimension bronzer in Delphic, the extra dimension blush in Seduced at Sea, and the intense eyeliner in Black Swan. The eyeliner was not on my wishlist, but when I swatched it I was sold!

From the Proenze Schouler collection I bought the stunning ombre blush in Ocean City.

From the Playland collection I bought casual colour pot in Hi Jinks, I love mult-taskers, and this can be used on cheeks and lips!

And lastly the patent polish lip pencil in Teen Dream.

And that is my haul

Mani Monday with Essie and Catrice!

Happy Monday All!

For today's mani I used Essie in "After school boy blazer" and Catrice in "Stardust" for the accent nail.

The Essie polish looks more blue in the bottle than on my nails, and this is only two coats. It applied really well, not much streaking. But, I found when I put a top coat on, for some reason the colour transferred a bit to my top coat brush, even though it was completely dry, like 24 hours later dry! Any ideas?

Stardust is just stunning, as is the rest of the crushed crystal range. This is three coats, and a top coat. Two coats is more than enough though.

Have a lovely week ladies!

Limited Edition “Crème Fresh” by CATRICE

Wash-off pastels and 60’s flavour. Think sorbet shades and feminine retro silhouettes. Shift dresses, A-line skirts, blouses with round collars, cat-eye sunglasses, curved eyeliner and backcombed, up-do hairstyles à la Audrey Hepburn determine the look. Tone in tone, mint green, apricot and pink prefer to stay amongst themselves to create a delicate, sensual image. The new Limited Edition “Crème Fresh” by CATRICE presents the latest trend colours with a retro style from April to June 2014. The highlights include the Gradation Blush with gorgeous colour gradients in raspberry pink as well as the creamy Lip Balms with a semi-transparent texture. Meet the 60’s – by CATRICE.

When I saw this at the Catrice stand at Dischem, I was so excited! I can't see myself pulling off pastel green lips, but the polishes and blush look amazing! I didn't get any polishes, since they look quite similiar to the Essence ice cream range, but I did get myself the blush!

Below is the blush, and it has become one of my favourites! It gives me such a radiant and dewy look! The colour is quite pigmented, and more pink than this picture. Just a slight swirl of my brush has more than enough product, and go easy, the pigment is awesome, and can be layered if you need more.

Below are some of the other products available:

Crème Fresh by CATRICE – Powder Eyeshadow

Pastel Passion. The powdery eyeshadow with a soft texture creates a subtle eye make-up with a spring-like pastel look. Four colours including elegant cream, fresh mint green, soft candy pink and intensive chocolate brown make your eyes shine as bright as the stars with a silvery pearl effect. For wide-open eyes à la Jackie O. Available in C01 Jame’s Brown, C02 Another Pink Panther,
C03 Evergreen 60s and C04 So Jackie O. R46.95

Crème Fresh by CATRICE – Gradation Blush

Ombré Future. This blush with a soft texture is a true highlight in bright raspberry pink. The fashionable colour gradation picks up on the ombré trend and – applied with a brush - it ensures a rosy, fresh look on your cheeks as well as subtly modelling the contours of your face. Available in C01 Waterloo Sunrise. R62.95

Crème Fresh by CATRICE – Lip Balm

Beauty Patisserie. An indulgent shine with just a hint of colour. The limited Lip Balms by Crème Fresh have an especially creamy texture to ensure soft and supple lips. The semi-transparent bulk has a futuristic look, while the packaging with its graphic design has the retro charm of the 60’s. The almost see-through finish comes in pink, apricot and mint green. Available in C01 Another Pink Panther, C02 Evergreen 60s and C03 The Peach Boys. R62.95

Crème Fresh by CATRICE – Ultimate Nail Lacquer

Swinging Sixties. Candy colours with ultimate coverage and ultimate shine. Perfectly aligned with this Limited Edition, four soft pastel shades as well as a bright colour highlight are storming the market with their 60’s packaging design. Light pink, fresh apricot, sorbet yellow, mint green and bright raspberry pink  - all with a popular metal effect – are here to define your nail design. The extra-broad, reservoir brush ensures an accurate application. Available in C01 The Peach Boys, C02 Make Fast At Tiffany’s, C03 Evergreen 60s, C04 Another Pink Panther and C05 Light Your Fire. R39.95

Happy Wedgeday!

Today's wedge is my second last summer wedge!

I love this heel design, it is quirky and weird! I haven't worn this wedge yet, story of my life, but I hope to as soon as summer arrives again, haha!

This wedge is quite comfortable and stable, even though the wedge looks a bit scary!

I love the bright orange straps, and the wooden heel.

What do you think?

May Rubybox Unboxing

This month's Rubybox was decent.

I love the Body Choice sponge, I already bought one of these for myself a while ago, and they are amazing at exfoliating your body, so I don't mind another one, especially in this dry winter weather. R74.95
The Beauscience shampoo and conditioner in travel sizes are so useful, and I love Beauscience products, the body butter is amazing!
Rubybox Pintail Comb, is good for teasing and styling my hair. R34.95
Nivea In Shower Moisturiser, I already have a full size product of this, I find it okay for summer, but not moisturising enough for winter.

So, the value of the box is around R120-R130, so so I think. I would have loved to get the John Frieda Oil Rlixir... Bleh

I do love my boutique products though, if you follow me you know I am a huge Stila fan, and I am excited to add this pretty blush to my collection. The tangerine smooch stick was free with my order.

And, there you have it... How was your Rubybox?

Mani Monday with Catrice!

Happy Monday Ladies!

I have no idea how I am going to get through a full five day week, the first in ages!

I recently bought most of Catrice's Crushed Crystals Polishes, I did the preview of the range HERE, and I was super excited to try it when it got to SA. There are six shades available, and this one is called Plumdog Millionaire.

I applied two coats of this polish, and the colour is amazing. It is much brighter in person, and applied smoothly. I found the brush was a bit big, but it didn't bother me that much. It is a glitter texture polish, and dries super fast. I didn't apply a top coat, as I didn't want to detract from the glitter texture. It has been three days, and is still going strong, no chips, it has however started to fade along the tips of my nails.

Good Luck for the week ahead, I know I need it!

Fancying Friday with Legit

I love Legit! If you follow my blog and social media, you will see many buys from Legit. They are affordable, and oh so trendy!

Below are some of my must haves, and most of them I do have. (I couldn't wait, I just had to get me some)

Taupe boots

I love this boot, and immediately snatched it up! The buckles, the different textures, amazing, and for R400, yes please!

Colour-block sandals

How stunning are these sandals? Monochrome is always in, add a gold heel, and I am sold! And yes, I snatched this up too, for only R250

Black courts with gold toecap

Which lady doesn't need a black and gold heel in their closet? Need I say more? I didn't get this one, I thought I should restrain myself. R230

Chestnut rider boots

I love flat rider boots for winter, the colour of this boot is amazing, the picture doesn't show it well enough, best go in store and have a look. I got these too, they are super comfy, and R400!

Black chain dress

This dress is amazing, if you have an event coming up, you need to get yourself this dress! R330

These are my Legit buys, minus the monochrome and gold sandals, which I got on another shopping expedition.

What is your favourite item?

Have a lovely weekend! Better enjoy this weekend, since all the public holidays and mid week breaks are over... Sigh...

Pictures were taken from the Legit website.

Loving my organisers! Check out my great bargain page HERE, and find out where to get all three organisers for just over R600.

2nd Love Cream Blush

On a recent trip to Dischem, I came across these cream blush sticks. Unfortunately they don't have testers, so I bought three that looked most suitable to me. There are six shades, which are listed below:

1) Flutter-Light Pink
2) Preppy-Coral
3) Bashful-Orange
4) Catalina- Peach
5) Lavish- Raspberry
6) Toffee-Brown

Above are the three I chose, Preppy, Bashful and Catalina.

The first set of swatches are unblended, and then the second picture is blended in. I am quite a fan of cream blush, and these look promising. I am eager to get the Toffee shade too, for contouring. The blush stick is R30 each, and quite worth it. The colour is quite pigmented, and you can blend it out to soften the look. I applied it directly to my cheeks, and then blended with my fingers.

You can check out their website HERE. Dischem is not stocking all their products, but they do have quite a few on their shelves.

Below is some more information from the website.

Quick Stick Cream Blush is a roll up stick blush that has a creamy texture.

Unlike your usual powder blush, cream blushes can be applied and blended into the skin with a more luminous finish.

How to use:

1. You can use a brush to dab some color on the cheeks and blend or apply the stick directly to the apples of the cheeks and blend in the color with your fingers.

2. Generally applying to the apples of the cheeks with your fingertips will help the cream go on more naturally because the warmth of your hand in circular motions will help the color distribute evenly on the cheeks.

Happy Blushing!

Happy Wedgeday and Voting Day Ladies!

I only have about four summer wedges left ladies. I love these bright wedges, they are so comfy!

I bought them from Legit a couple of years ago, when my wedge obsession started. And since then my wedge collection has grown and grown. Once again I would pair this with a neutral outfit, to avoid looking like a clown!

Next up, on a more serious note, today is voting day in South Africa. Twenty years ago was the first time everyone was allowed to vote, regardless of colour. So, today I will proudly show that dreaded but important black mark on my thumb.

Lastly, this is a great bargain update... Acrylic Organisers are amazing and so convenient, and I bought this for only R250. Find out more on my Great Bargains Page, or click HERE

Mani Monday with Essie

Today's Mani is plain and simple. I used Essie in Fear or Desire.

This is two coats. Unfortunately I didn't put a top coat, so it started chipping in three days... Sigh...

Have a lovely week!
