Bootsday Shoesday!

Happy Shoesday Ladies!

The weather has been hovering between summer and winter for the past week. We have days of blistering heat, and then days of freezing cold.

Naturally I did not know what type of shoes to choose, sandals, boots, pumps... Sigh...

So, I picked these boots. They are the most comfortable boots ever, even though they are super high.

Have a good day ladies!

Dazzling in Pink this Mani Monday!

Happy Monday Ladies

I am in love with this range from LA Girl, called 3D Effects. I bought the entire range from Dischem a while ago, and I have been slowly trying them all out.

This one is called Dazzling Pink, and is a light pink type colour, packed with rose gold glitters. It is absolutely stunning!

Have a good week ladies, and remember to check out Shop My Stash on Wednesday, which will be all about eyes with Stila!

Shop My Stash! Lippies!

Hi Ladies

Today I am trying out some lip crayons. They are all quite pigmented, and fade to a stain.

Revlon Matte Balm in Elusive
Revlon Lacquer Balm in Demure
Jordana Twist & Shine in Tropical Frenzy

I love the formulation of them all, but the colour of the Jordana just doesn't work for me...

It has been used twice only. You can unwind more of the pencil (this is rolled all the way down)

So, blogsale here it comes, for R25! Click HERE

Shoesday! Black and studs!

Happy Shoesday!

Tomorrow is a holiday here in SA, Heritage Day to be exact, which basically means Braai Day!

Spring is in the air, with bits of summer and winter thrown in between. Which means it is time for pedis and sandals, well, unless there is a hail storm brewing!

Today's heel is a pretty black patent sandal, with studs on the heel. It is quite high, but comfortable! I think I bought this last summer, and wore it once. I think my feet look so pretty in it :)

Have a good Heritage Day all!

Mani Monday from Vixen and a haul!

Hi Ladies

Today's polish is a cheapie, R20 at Dischem, but unfortunately it has no name. It looks like a dupe for Essie "Lapis of Luxury" you can have a look at swatches of that HERE. I have "Lapis of Luxury" at home, and will try do a comparison soon.

The formula of this polish is amazing! No streaking, it is super smooth, and in a rush, one coat would work. It dried relatively quickly. As for how long it lasts, I cannot comment on that yet.

My BF and I are doing a 10km obstacle course tomorrow night, so if it holds through that, it is definitely a winner! If I survive that, I will be a winner too :)

And, as for the short nails, I decided my nails need to recuperate a bit, and a total chop always helps with that. Also, there is nothing glamorous about a 10km obstacle course, which I am sure will result in more than one broken nail.

On Saturday I went on a bit of a shopping spree.

Cotton On at Eastgate finally opened, and I got these cute nautical shoes for only R100.
These two tees from Legit are super cute, and perfect for summer!
I have been wanting to try out The Body Shop Argan Range for a while, so I bought myself the oil and body butter. It smells amazing!
And the Moisture Serum, because my skin is still a mess!
Nails Inc collection of three polishes, I bought another set of this to giveaway soon... :)
Maybelline Babylips Electro- For some reason I have only seen these at Foschini so far, not sure why.
Beautique Brushes- These are super affordable, will comment on the quality once I have used them.
L'Oreal highlighter powder, I finally got my hands on this, remember it is a limited edition ladies!
NYX pigment, and cream blushes, I love NYX more and more with every purchase.

Have a good week ladies!

August Rubybox and a Haul!

Hi Ladies

My August  Rubybox was worth about R225.

Botanical Collection Tropical Hand & Nail Cream- R25 (This smells heavenly and is super moisturising!)
Dove Deo- R25... Meh
Rubybox Brush Cleaner- R69.95 This is awesome, a quick spray of this cleans and disinfects your brushes in a flash... This doesn't mean you don't have to properly wash your brushes ladies, this is just an interim measure.
Rubybox Eyeshadow Brush- R99.95 I was hoping for the foundation brush, but this brush is pretty cool too, and the bristles are super soft!

I went on a little haul at Clicks the other day

I finally got my hands on these salon pump nail polish removers from Sorbet.
A Sorbet hydrating face mask, because my skin is still all over the place.
And I am probably the last person to try the Sorbet BB Cream. When I tested it out when it first came out, it looked a bit ashy on me... But I succumbed and decided to give it a proper try, from my dressing table, not those horrendous mirrors in store.
Max Factor Skin Illuminizer foundation, this intrigued me, I love glowy skin!
And lastly the Lee Stafford Frizz Off spray, which I am excited to use this summer for smooth healthy looking hair!

It is nearly weekend ladies!

Shop My Stash!

NYX Powder Blush in "Sand". I love this colour, for my eyes, as a blush it just doesn't work for me. It is a buttery highly pigmented powder, and is now one of my favourite eyeshadows.

Top Shop Cream to Powder Blush in "Head Over Heels". This blush gives a radiant look, and comes in a cute polka dot compact, with a high quality mirror! The colour is really pretty, but not that great on me. I have used it a couple of times, and will sell it for R60.

Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Glo Illuminating Powder - "Strike-A-Pose-Rose" I love shimmer bricks, or rounds in this case, they are so versatile, this has four different colours and can be used as eyeshadow or blush. The colour doesn't work for me, so I will be selling this for R40, I have only used it once.

These items will be added to my blogsale page HERE soon, or you can email me on prettifulblog@outlook.com.

Happy Minty Shoesday Ladies!

Hi Ladies...

Today's shoe is from Zoom, and I love them! The only problem is I can't walk in them for longer than 30 minutes. It is not the heel, or any other problem, except that damn metal toe cap! It squinches my toes so badly!

I love the colour, the style, the pointy toe, the material which is suede like, the open arch, the look of the toe-cap (just hate the feel).

Have a good day, and be sure to join me for Shop My Stash tomorrow! Two of the items are definitely going to my blog sale!

Mani Monday with Essence!

Happy Monday Ladies!

I am having a bit of a moody one, oh well...

For today's mani I used Essence in Flash Powder. It is a textured polish, a sandy glitter type. Unfortunately I needed 3-4 coats of this, but thankfully it dried really quickly!

I love it, it looks like jewels on my nails, and lasted a good 5 days. Definitely a hit for me!

Have a good week ladies!

I'm shopping my stash!

Hi Ladies

As I mentioned last week, I have a new weekly installment called Shop My Stash!

You can read my first post HERE

This week my three new products are:

Stila Eyes Are The Window Palette in Body- I received this from Stila to review a while ago, and hadn't tried it yet. I am not a fan of bright eye colours, but the mix of colours in this palette is stunning! A full review with swatches will follow soon.

Maybelline Baby Skin- This is sort of a cult product, and I finally got my hands on this when my BF and I travelled to Singapore last year. Not quite sure if it is worth the hype, but it is a good primer.

LA Girl Gel Liner in Black Magic- Just wow! I am a huge fan of eyeliner, and this is my favourite, it is a gel in a pencil form, super black and long lasting. Will do a full review with swatches soon.

So, unfortunately I love all my new products this week, so no additions to the blog sale

Colourblock Shoesday with Legit!

Hi Ladies

I am on time with my post today, aren't you proud?

Today's shoe is from Legit, I bought it about a week ago, for a whopping R90! Yes, you read right!

I am loving ankle straps on pointy shoes recently, it gives a certain edginess to other wise plain and sophisticated shoes. The heel is not super high, which makes this a pretty yet comfortable shoe. The colour combo is great too, I can never get enough of colour blocking! And red and black is a fierce combo. I would love this with a monochrome outfit.

Remember to check in tomorrow for my second installment of Shop My Stash!

Mani Monday LA Girl Electric Coral

Happy Monday Ladies!

Today's mani is another one of the LA Girl 3D Effects polishes, which I am loving! This is called Electric Coral, and is a stunning bright orange, with gold dust once again.

I highly recommend trying out at least one of these polishes from the range! This is two coats, and there is very slight VNL on some nails, so three coats would probably be best. The polish applies smoothly, dries quickly and is quite pigmented.

Have a good week ladies!

August Favourites!

Hi Ladies!

And happy spring finally!

My favourites this month were heavily focused on skincare, this winter definitely was not kind! My skin has been dry and flaky, and not pleasant at all, and thank goodness for The Body Shop Vitamin E Range. Vitamin E is great for the skin, especially my dry dehydrated skin.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Sink in Moisture Mask- Love! This mask really helped my dry skin, and what I love most about it is it is so easy to use, and not messy at all. It has a light lotion like consistency, and doesn't dry on the skin leaving that cracked face feeling. The best part, is that you just tissue it off after 10 minutes. This mask definitely gives the convenience of sheet masks a run for their money!

The Body Shop Vitamin E Aqua Sorbet- This is an extremely light sorbet moisturiser. It has a weird feeling when applied to the skin, but quickly melts into the skin, with a lasting cooling effect. This will be a must for summer, as it also has a bit of a matte finish once absorbed. It feels really light, but still moisturises well. Although I feel the mattifying effect accentuates my dry skin patches at the moment. The moringa scent is heavenly though!

The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum- I have been using this on my dry patches most nights, and I feel as if it has really helped. What I love is that I don't wake up with an oily looking face. I press it into my face, and then massage it, and follow with my night cream.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Lotion- This lotion is quite thick and rich, but just what I need for my skin right now. It has an spf of 15, which is quite measly, but better than nothing, and I always apply an spf 30 product over anyway. It applies well under makeup, even though it is quite rich.

Beauty Treats Contour palette in peach- I did a full review of this HERE, and I really am loving it! And yes, I did buy a spare for when this one is finished. I love having all three powders in one easy compact, and this will definitely be a must when I travel.

Essence Pigment in black sparrow- I was totally surprised by this one. I found this in the sales bin, and it looked interesting, so I bought it. I love this for a dramatic smokey eye look. The bottle has little holes on the top, so you don't dip your brush into the entire bottle, which is really useful. The colour is stunning, a black grey shimmer that is highly pigmented.

And lastly my NYX cream blush in Glow- I love this. The colour is really pigmented and bright, so you only need a light swipe of your finger. The colour gives you a healthy flushed look, and because this is a cream blush, it is amazing for my dry winter skin right now.

Have a good weekend ladies!

A Note to Self- Shop My Stash!

Hi Ladies

I have set myself a challenge, and I am sharing it with you. If you read my previous post on my make up storage HERE, you would see I have way too many products that I hardly use. The problem is that I haven't even tried most of them, so I don't even know if they would work for me. This brings me to my challenge!

I challenge myself to shop my stash and use three new make up products every week. And if a product or item doesn't suit me, it goes directly to my blog sale HERE!

I will post my three products of the week every Wednesday, as well as whether there is anything up for sale!

This weeks picks are all from MAC, and were part of the limited Alluring Aquatic and Proenza Schouler collections.

From the Alluring Aquatic collection I have the extra dimension bronzer in Delphic and the extra dimension blush in Seduced at Sea. From the Proenza Schouler collection I have the stunning ombre blush in Ocean City.

I tried all three this weekend, and have decided to part with the Alluring Aquatic Blush, so it will be up on my blogsale.

Happy Shoesday Ladies!

Even though it is officially spring, the weather is yet to get with the program. So socks and boots are still the order of the day for me.

Today's shoe is a leather/suede combo, with gold accents, and I love it. It is really comfortable, the heel is just the right height, not too high, but just high enough.

The best part of this was the price, I bought this from Ackerman's this winter, for less than R200.

Have a good shoesday ladies!

Tomorrow I am starting a new weekly installment called "Shop My Stash" keep a look out!

Mani Monday with LA Girl 3D Effects in Black Illusion!

I waited really really long for this collection to come to SA after seeing swatches of them.

This is how LA Girl describes this range:

3D Effects Hologram nail polish is made up of tiny holographic particles that create a spectacular 3D effect when applied to nails. Complemented by the vibrant colors available in this collection, these iridescent specks glisten and gleam, giving nails a brilliant holographic look.

The collection has a total of eight colours, of which I got all!

This one is called Black Illusion, and is just stunning, it is a glossy black with what looks like gold dust in it. I love how easy it is to get interesting looking nails these days. This polish is extremely smooth, and two coats is perfection. It dries quickly too.

Have you gotten your hands on any of these yet?
