Dr Gobac Exfoliating Masque Review

Hi Ladies

No matter how many luminous foundations and highlighters you use, your face is never going to have that glowing look without a good diet and lifestyle, and a good exfoliator! Your skin is constantly shedding, and you need to get rid of all of those dead skin cells. Yes, it is gross, but true!

This brings me to a Proudly South African product that landed on my beauty desk a while ago. There is nothing better than a local product, except a local product that is outstanding!

Dr Gobac Exfoliating Masque is a creamy masque that dissolves dead skin cells leaving you with fresh and renewed skin. It is very gentle yet effective, and my skin looks and feels healthier, plumper and more hydrated after use.

What I love about enzyme exfoliators as opposed to granular ones is that they are less harsh, and they know when to stop. Enzyme exfoliators cannot over exfoliate, unlike our hands and a granular scrub, which could keep going until our skin is left torn, red and raw!

What I love about this particular product is that it is an enzyme exfoliating luxurious masque! Just smooth a thin layer on the face, close your eyes for 15-20 minutes, rinse off and voila! There is no need to massage or scrub or any sort of hard labour. This gentle, silky masque is formulated to exfoliate effectively, while nurturing and protecting the skin, leaving the skin feeling silky soft and smooth.

If you are still not convinced, keep reading for the science behind it!

It contains papain enzyme to effectively dissolve the dead keratinised layers of the epidermis.
It also contains Vitamin E acetate which feeds the skin, improves elasticity and is a protective antioxidant
Retinyl Palmitate (a form of Vitamin A) and Palmitic Acid (a component of palm oil) are easily absorbed into the deeper layers of the skin, where they are converted to retinol to help control and stimulate the growth of epidermal cells, improve stability among the cells, and restore the epidermal architecture, while protecting the skin against infections.

The results of this product speak for themselves!

The Masque is R399.00 for a 50ml tube, and is worth every cent. Because it has such a creamy texture it is so easy to spread, so you hardly need to use much, so it will last you a long time!

Dr. Gobac is available at selected spas and salons, Placecol outlets, Camelot Spas and Edgars stores. Click HERE to find a stockist near you.

Get rid of those skin cells now and allow your skin to glow through!

MAC New Launches! Toledo and Cinderella

First up, MAC x Isabel and Ruben Toledo Collection, which will be in store on the 12th March.

I am after something from this collection just for the packaging! The collection includes, three eyeshadow palettes, four bright and scary looking mascaras, three equally bright and scary eyeliners, six lipsticks, six lipglasses, three nail polish shades, a powder/blush brush, a makeup bag, and my favourites, the ombre blushes!

There are three shades of the blush, I am after at least one of them! It is probably between Kindergarten Red and Ripe Peach, since I already have Blush Ombre in Azalea Blossom from a previous collection, however mine looks more purple than pink, you can have a look HERE.

Kindergarten Red (Crimson into Pale Nude)

Azalea Blossom (Light Cool Pink)

Ripe Peach (Light Coral)

The Next Collection is MAC x Cinderella Collection, which is launching in the US later this week, is also meant to be in stores on the 12th March. A 17 piece collection which includes two lipsticks, two lipglass, one eyeshadow palette, two eye gloss, two fluidline, one iridescent face powder, one beauty powder, one glitter, two pigments, one mascara and two brushes.

Shop My Stash- Becca and Stila

Happy Wednesday Ladies!

Today on Shop My Stash I have two products from Stila and one from Becca Cosmetics.

First up, Stila Countless Color Pigments in Encore

This is a great product, I love that you can get so many different looks from just this one product! I have used this a couple of times, but not enough to keep it. So, to my blog sale it goes for R100

Next, Stila Convertible Color Lip and Cheek Cream in Gladiola

This is a bright orange cream which can be used on both cheeks and lips. I love multi-taskers! I don't use this that often, so it will be added to my blog sale for R100

And lastly, Becca Mineral Blush in Gypsy

This is a very pretty blush, a light pink with golden pearl. Becca blushes are really amazing, so pigmented, finely milled and blendable. I find this blush doesn't suit my skin tone too well, so blog sale time! Used not more than three times. R250

Also, I had this Sleek Palette on Shop My Stash a while ago, and was in two minds about keeping it. I have now made up my mind, and it will be added to my blog sale HERE for R100.

See anything you like ladies?

Happy Shoesday Ladies!

Today's shoe is from ASOS. You can really find some gems on ASOS at affordable prices during there major sales.

I bought this heel a while ago, but I haven't worn it yet. It is super-high, super-pretty and super-elegant.

I love the lace design, and the little cut out on either side of the heel. This is definitely a glamorous shoe, and needs an equally glamorous event. Anyone getting married or having a fancy shmancy party soon?

Don't forget to check out Shop My Stash tomorrow, all three products will be for sale!

Mani Monday- Costa Rica!

Happy Mondays Ladies!

For today's Mani Monday I used Nubar in Costa Rica Coral, a bright and glossy coral shade. This is without a top coat, and you can see how glossy this polish is. The opacity is really great, this is two coats, but one could do too. Nubar is available at Clicks, and is really affordable, I think it was less than R30 if I am not mistaken. They have a really great shade range. This colour is great for summer, a very happy bright shade. This lasted for a good 5 days without fading or chipping!

Thanks for reading ladies!

Shop My Stash- Foundations!

Hi Ladies

Today on Shop My Stash I have three new foundations.

First up, Maxfactor Miracle Touch, Liquid Illusion Foundation. This is a creamy/mousse type foundation, and it is so light! I found myself applying too much at first, since the coverage is fuller than it feels, so apply lightly. My skin feels silky soft and I really love the effect of this foundation. I recommend you give this a try! I use a flat foundation brush to apply it, and then buff it into my skin with a stippling brush for a light airbrushed look.

Next up, L'Oreal Infallible Brush Foundation. I was quite surprised at how well this brush/foundation combo worked. I usually use a stippling brush to apply my foundation, but I found this brush worked quite well. Just twist the bottle to release some foundation, one twist releases the perfect amount for my face. I wipe the brush with a face wipe after use. It is great for travelling, since you have a brush and foundation in one.

Lastly, LA Girl Perfecting Liquid Makeup. This is a great medium coverage foundation, it applies so well with a stippling brush. It has a luminous finish, and you definitely get more than what you paid for. The quality of the product compared to the affordable price is amazing.

None of these are going to my blog sale this week ladies, but they are all available in SA, and affordable! Check out my blog sale HERE in the meantime, there are some MAC and Sephora goodies, as well as many more brands!

Tomorrow I will be sharing my Birthday Wishlist with you, which includes some amazing new launches!

Happy Shoesday Ladies!

Hi Ladies

This shoe is another one of my Legit collab shoes, this one is from LUV-DR, and I absolutely love it!It is more purple in person, less burgundy. I love the ankle strap, very ALDO, I am very much into thick ankle straps these days! It is extremely comfortable, even though the heel is quite thin and high. Legit is definitely my go-to shoe shop, always on trend and affordable!

Mani Monday Jackpot!

Happy Monday Ladies

I received these polishes a while ago to review, and I only just got down to it now!

For this mani I used Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Polish in Jackpot and the Diamond Top Coat.

Here are my thoughts:

The colour is really pretty
Quick and easy to use, since the colour includes a base coat
Diamond Top Coat provides a glossy finish
Both colour and top coat dry quickly
Really easy and quick to remove
30 shades available
Long lasting, more than a week without a chip in sight, however the glossiness did fade

Overall I think this is a good buy, and I have a few shades on my wishlist, especially Wild Card!

These polishes retail for R110, and can be found almost everywhere :)

Have a good week ladies!

I also got a couple of TBS goodies recently! I bought the Smoky Poppy Body Butter and a Lip and Cheek Velvet Stick which are from their newest Limited Edition. The Body Butter smells amazing! I also bought the Lightening Touch which looks amazing for dark under-eye circles! The best part is that they currently have a 3 for 2 special, so I basically got the Lip and Cheek Stick free! Score!

Shop My Stash- Glosses!

Hi Ladies

Today on Shop My Stash I have some glosses!

First up, MAC Water Shiny Lipgloss in Glosspitality, this gloss is super shiny, and  not sticky at all, it doesn't have much of a colour to it though, so it is perfect for a nude glossy lip, or over a bright lipstick. I am no longer the biggest fan of extremely glossy lips, so this will be added to my blogsale HERE for R60, used twice.

Next, MAC Superglass in Sweet Tart, a light pink gloss with shimmer. Super shiny, super shimmery and super thick, none of these are a bad thing, but at almost 28 years old, I think I need to give this up. So, blogsale HERE for R80, used a couple of times.

Lastly, Carolina Herrera 212 VIP Gloss, a sheer yellow gold gloss, which really adds volume to my lips and makes them look all plump and healthy. There are little glitter particles in it, but you can't see them when it is applied, it applies almost completely sheer. I am keeping this, for plump lips sake.

Thank you for reading Ladies!

Kinda Wedgeday!

Hi Ladies

This shoe is basically a wedge, right? Or an extremely chunky heel? Either way, this shoe is from Legit, my favourite shoe place. It is comfy and casual, and perfect for summer! Paired with a white cotton maxi dress, this wedge is a must!

Manicure Monday- Essie Licorice

Happy Monday Ladies

For today's mani I used Essie in Licorice, which is my favourite glossy jet black polish. It dries quickly and is long lasting. This is without a top coat, and you can see just how glossy it is!

I used a Boho Marks tattoo on my ring finger as a midi ring design. I received these tattoos a while ago and I have really been enjoying using them.

Have a good week ladies!

January Favourites, A Fail and a haul!

Hi Ladies

I know I am rather late, but better late than never, right?

Unfortunately I missed my December faves since I was travelling, so I have quite a few products in this post for December and January.

Dirty Works Miracle Cream is a rich cream without being greasy or oily. It absorbs almost immediately and really helps my skin look radiant and healthy and feel soft and smooth. The best part of this product is the price, R99.95 for 50ml! I would highly recommend this product. I use this at night, since the summer days are so hot, but it doesn't specify whether it is a day and night cream, so it is a great all-rounder!

*Maybelline Babylips Intense Care. I usually use Carmex or Lip Sano on my lips, but for summer I decided to try this Babylips, and I am glad I did! Beside it being extremely hydrating, it also has spf protection! I didn't expect it to be as moisturising as my usuals, but it was, add the sun protection, and this is a huge hit!

Garnier BB Cream for combination/oily skin has good coverage without being heavy, so it is perfect for summer. I find it gives better coverage than the original one without being as rich. This is great for hot weather and gives a flawless finish.

MAC Archie's Girls Pearlmatte Face Powder in Flatter Me, a gold/peach highlighter with built in coral heart blushes! The highlighter is MAC Beauty Powder in Shell Pearl, and the blush is MAC Powder Blush in Foolish Me. I love the idea of having the highlighter and blush together, where you can either use them seperately or together. For a picture of the open product, click HERE

Caudalie Anti-wrinkle Fluid, a broad spectrum SPF 20 fluid with antioxidants to stop free radicals and visibly correct wrinkles. I love how lightweight this product is, it reminds me of La Mer sun protection fluid, but with added skin benefits. It is also way more affordable, and available HERE on Rubybox.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in 'Soft and Gentle' is a great highlighter, it gives a subtle lit from within glow, without too much shimmer. Love it and I highly recommend this! I use it with a fan brush to highlight above my cheek bones.

Clarins Gloss Prodige in Papaya, I am loving this, it isn't a very sticky gloss, but it is long lasting, and gives a subtle colour to the lips. It is moisturising too!

Sharon Osbourne Blush in Peaches and Cream, when I initially saw this blush I thought it was going to be way too light for me, but I actually love it! It is a very soft pink which gives a flushed and healthy look.

*Dermalogica Protection 50 Sport SPF50 is a broad-spectrum sunscreen which utilises lipid-rich Oleosome microspheres that boost sun protection (SPF50!) and antioxidants to help defend the skin. I took this on holiday with me, and it was a huge saviour! The humidity and heat in Thailand and Malaysia were enough to make any product melt away, but this waterproof product stayed put through all the sweating and swimming. I love that it can be used on face and body, so it means one less product to carry around! Dermalogica has this to say:
The formula includes a blend of essential oils to soothe irritation from UV exposure, while Hyaluronic Acid binds moisture to the skin without greasiness. This new product is water-resistant for up to 40 minutes and is a must-have for extreme sport enthusiasts who are frequently
practicing and attending sporting events outside. Protection 50 Sport SPF50 can be used for both face and body, making sunscreen protection easy for busy people on-the-go.

Revlon CC Cream, I have had this product for less than a year, and I loved it. I even featured it in my June Favourites, HERE. I wanted to use it again recently, and the colour and texture has completely changed, it seems as if the spf part seperated, so it is really runny and has a white liquid layer as you can see above. Definitely a fail for me if a product has a shelf life of less than a year!

I went to Dischem a couple of days ago, and couldn't help myself. This body cream smells amazing and is affordable which is always a bonus. I finally gave in to the hype of Catrice Camouflage Cream! A new release from Catrice is the Multi Style Matte Eyeliner, it is so black and long lasting, I love it! And this brow palette from Eyelure looks promising with a brow wax, a dark brown powder, and a lighter powder to help shape the brows.

Shop My Stash- Clinique, Sephora and Essence!

Hi Ladies

Today on Shop My Stash I have some face beauties!

Clinique Cheek Pop Blush in Plum Pop, I didn't want to use this blush because it is so pretty, and I didn't want to wear out the flower design! But I started using it and I love it, and the flower is still bright and beautiful. Although the blush looks really bright, it applies in the perfect shade. The colour payoff is really good, so don't be too heavy handed. Perfect shade of pink, easily blended and a pretty design... What's not to love!

Essence Me and My Icecream Shimmer Pearls, these shimmer pearls were part of a limited edition a while back, and I am only getting around to using them now. First off, they smell amazing! I just want to eat them! They aren't very shimmery, more glowy and radiant I would say. I use a fluffy brush, swirl it around, and gently buff my entire face, love!

Sephora Shimmer Sheet Set: 90 sheets, 30 bronzers, 30 blushes and 30 illuminators! The illuminator is really great, at first I thought it would be too silvery, but it works and blends well. The blush is a very soft pink and can suit every skin tone. The bronzer is a peachy bronzer, it is the most pigmented, and works really well to add an all over glow. I like these for women on the run and for quick touch ups. It doesn't really fit into my routine, since I hardly ever do touch ups once I leave the house. So, blogsale addition ladies, I have only used 1 sheet of each, and this will sell for R120 HERE

Shoesday- Sneaky Wedgeday and a little haul

Happy Shoesday Ladies!

So, today's shoe which I bought from Legit about a week or two ago has already become a fave, even though I have only worn it once! Looks like a heel, but surprise, it is a comfy wedge! From the front it looks like an elegant light dusty pink suede heel, and then you throw in the wedge, and you can strut around all night!

So, once again Dischem got the better of me. I really am bad at this spending ban stuff!

I picked up this blush palette from Beauty Treats, Rimmel Blush Stains, LA Girl and L'Oreal foundation.

Mani Monday- Neon Pink

Happy Monday Ladies

Last week I received these two polishes from Nails Inc, and I couldn't wait to use them, so here we are.

Notting Hill Gate, a bright pink neon shade, and Porchester Square, an iconic greige shade. Yes, greige is a thing, beige + grey= greige, duh!

Porchester Square is not a hero shade for no reason, it is a perfect polish for those days when you don't know what polish to use, an elegant and classy polish, not to mention timeless! This is definitely a must have in your collection, I will do a Mani Monday post on this polish soon so you can see it in all its glory! I used this as a base for the neon pink, as I find most neons are quite sheer, and look best over a white or nude base.

Notting Hill Gate is a bright pink, which was less sheer than I expected it to be, it could have worked with no base and three coats, which is impressive for a neon. This is two thin coats, and it dried surprisingly fast. I think Porchester Square as a base sort of dulled the neon down a bit, since it is a bit of a dark nude, but I still love it! Next time I will try it with a white base, I am sure that will make it pop!

You can find Nails Inc at Edgars and Red Square stores, as well as Red Square Online HERE. These polishes sell for R115.

Have a good week ladies!
