Mani monday with Essence and Catrice

Remember the post I did HERE on all the polishes I bought from the new Essence and Catrice ranges?

This is the first Mani I have done using them.

I used Catrice Nickel Minaj, and Essence Party in a Bottle.

I love this mirror like silver polish, it applies smoothly, and this is two coats. It leaves slight streaking, but nothing that a good top coat like Nails Inc Caviar can't fix.

The glitter polish is not very dense, so I used four coats of this polish. I like the emerald green colour!

I will hopefully swatch all my new polishes in days to come!

Have a good week!

Fancying Friday MAC and Catrice!

On my wishlist this week is the MAC Strobe Cream and the CATRICE Prime And Fine: Pore Refining Anti-Shine Base!

And luckily, my dear boyfriend gave me a MAC voucher for my birthday, among other things! Aren't I lucky? So, I will hopefully be going to get this MAC product soon.

Can anyone suggest any other MAC must-haves?

Next up is this product from Catrice. I am hoping it will be similiar to Mabelline's Baby Face, which is not available in SA, but I was lucky enough to get in Singapore on my travels.

What is on your wishlist this week?

The new Essence and Catrice products have arrived!

Remember the Essence and Catrice preview I did HERE?

Well, some of those products have actually arrived on SA shores, in Dischem. I am not too sure about Clicks.

Needless to say, I went crazy!

Besides the nail polish and blush, Essence also had some eye palettes, although not the face in a box ones that I was hoping for.

Regardless, this is my haul below.

First up, Blush Up Powder by Essence. R51.95. There are two shades of this amazing ombre blush, a pinkish one, and this orangeish one that I bought. The colour ranges from an orange to a sort of peach.

Next up, Catrice Crushed Crystal Polishes! R54.95 each. How amazing do these polishes look? There were six shades, but I thought I should limit myself, so I bought four!

And now the Essence polishes! They are a bit more expensive than the usual Essence polishes, but totally worth it. The new roundish bottles are R32.95 each, they come in fourteen colours and four different effects, I limited myself to thirteen, how disciplined of me, right? The effects range from Glitter Jewels to Metal Sugar, how exciting! The Nail Candies and the 101 Dalmations are R25.95 each. There are seven shades of Nail Candies polishes, I chose the peach one, one again limiting myself.

And lastly, I dont know if these two colours are new, but I only noticed them on my last visit. The Catrice is a mirror like silver, called Nickel Minaj and was R34.95, and the Essence Sparkle Sand Effect in Be My Lucky Star was R18.95.

And there you have it, what is your favourite from the New Arrivals?

Happy Wedgeday with Shoedazzle!

Today's wedge is from Shoedazzle, and I love it! It is a combination of suede and glitter. Shoedazzle's chief stylist, is Rachel Zoe, and I love her style, so I was super excited to get a pair of these!

I have not worn it before, I am not sure why. The great thing about these Wedgeday posts is that I can share my shoe collection with you, while reminding myself what I have in my closet at the same time!

I love the colour, it makes it edgy, but not overboard. I would pair these with skinny jeans/pants. I love pairing grey and purple, so that would be my colour palette I think.

Thanks for reading!

I love the limited boxes Rubybox offers every now and again... They are always worth quite a bit, and offer high end samples, perfect for travelling!

This L'Occitane box contains shower oil, soap, hand cream and and an eau de toilette.

The sizes are generous, but not nearly enough! :P

Were you happy with your box?

Manicure Monday and Pretty Printed Shirts

For this Mani I used Model's Own in Utopia as the base coat. Sally Hansen Gem Crush in Be Jeweled for the glitter gradient, and Nails Inc Caviar top coat.

This is my first time trying Models Own, and I quite like it. The application is smooth, no streaking, and it is quick drying too. This is two coats.

We all know how much I love Sally Hansen Gem Crush! This is the first time trying Be Jeweled, and I really love the colour. The consistency seems a bit thinner than the others for some reason.

Nails Inc top coat is amazing! Smooth and quick drying, and prevents chipping for quite a while. It has been three days and no chips in sight.

How cute are these printed shirts?

I bought a dog print, koala print and a bird print... For R99 each... Details on my Great Bargains page HERE

Have a good week!

Fancying Friday with China Glaze

I have decided to do a weekly post called Fancying Friday, which is basically a collection of things I fancy, and I would appreciate anyone donating these to me : )

It is a wishing Wednesday post, on a Friday, since my Wednesdays are taken over by wedges!

First up, Fairy Dust by China Glaze. I adore this fine glitter polish, and it makes any mani look like it was dipped in a big pot of fairy dust!

Next up, Too Yacht to Handle... Just google swatches of this polish, and you will know why I am in love!

China Glaze TOO YACHT TO HANDLE

And lastly, all the China Glaze Eye Candy 3-D Glitters are amazing, and would be a great addition to my collection!

China Glaze polishes are available from Maskscara online and in-store, check them out HERE. They are also available at salons, I have seen them at the Yemaya Express Nail Bars too.

And there you have it, what do you fancy?

To everyone in SA, enjoy your Human Rights Day!

Happy Wedgeday! Happy short week here in SA too!

These wedges are one of my favourites, even though I have only worn them once...

They are comfortable, and just so pretty!

I bought them from Legit, probably about 2 years ago.

I love them with a pretty dress, or even with skinny jeans or pants. As long as the bow is visible I am happy! I like the salmon pink colour, it is not too bright, and makes it more versatile.

Friday is Human Rights Day in South Africa! So have a safe and fun long weekend! Yay to tomorrow being the last working day of the week!

RAIN AFRICA... And no I am not talking about the weather!

The lovely Tanya from Rain Africa sent me these goodies to review.

As soon as I opened the box I got an amazing whiff of heaven. The scent is hard to explain, it is a refreshing sweet lemon bottle of love. Enter the Savannah Mist. I am not even a fan of lemon, I don't squeeze wedges over my food, I don't have it in my drinks, I am just not a fan. Until now! I went around the house spritzing everywhere and everything, and myself too!

I have tried the body butter and body lotion too, they are moisturising and not greasy. They have a pleasant scent, that isn't overpowering. The Savannah body butter smells exactly like the mist, heavenly and lemony... The Wild Cotton scent is a bit more faint, but lovely.

The Savannah liquid soap is not drying, it is creamy and the best part of all it comes in a beautiful bottle, it also smells lemony. This bottle needs to be on display! I would put the Savannah soap and body butter in the guest bathroom for visitors to use, and admire... (If I wasn't so selfish and wanting it all for myself)

The Wild Cotton Body Lotion R89.00
Savannah Body Butter R129.00
Savannah Liquid Soap R95.00
Savannah Room and Linen Mist R99.00

Have a look at their website HERE or find them on twitter HERE.

I could do with some more Savannah products!

Wedgeday Happiness!

Dear Weather... Please cheer up!

This dark and dreary weather is really starting to get to me... So here is some brightness for you!

These wedges are from Legit. When I first saw this wedge I was obsessed with it, but there wasn't a size 4 for me! So, I searched everywhere, called so many stores, and finally found one at a closeish store. So, I finally had it in my shoe closet!

A girl has to have what a girl has to have... Right? :)

I love the colours of the wedge, as well as the height. Not too high, not too low. I love peep-toes by the way. I have worn these wedges once, possible twice and once again, with neutral colours. The comfort level is medium, the heel is a bit thin, but not too bad, I can walk without landing on my face!

Happy Wedgeday!

Nails of the day!

I used a 2 True polish in shade 2 as my base polish. It is a bright creamy blue, and needs only one coat! It applies well, no streaking, and dries fairly fast.
Sinful Cinderella, this polish is beautiful! The picture doesn't capture it very well. It is a shimmery light blue that is not very pigmented, and needs a base coat. I feel I should have used a more baby blue polish to allow the Sinful polish to stand out. Regardless, I love this polish!
I stuck the bow on with some nail glue.

Happy Wedgeday!

Joburg has been rather dull and rainy recently, so I decided to spice things up for Wedgeday today!

These suede wedges are from Plum, and I bought them about 2 years ago, and haven't worn them yet... Sigh, i know!

They are quite high, but they are comfortable and stable. I love the edginess of the studs/spikes.

I would wear this with a monochrome outfit, so that the shoes can have all the focus. Shoes like this need all the focus, don't you agree?

P.S. today is my birthday, I am 27! :O

Nails of the day!

For today's nails I used Maybelline Color Show in Pink Boom, and Ruby Wing in Meadow.

I love the creamy pink colour, this is three coats, I found that two coats still showed a bit of VNL. It dried fairly quickly, and was easy to apply.

The Ruby Wing silver is a colour changing polish, but it has been dark and dreary and full of rain, so no colour change for me. Or you in fact. :)
I am glad it didn't change though, the colour wouldnt actually go with the pink very well, as it is a rose gold type colour. (I forgot that when I decided on this polish for the accent)

I used striping tape in a random pattern. Once the pink polish was completely dry, I made a pattern, then painted over the tape with the silver. I let the silver dry partially, and then slowly peeled the tape off.

Followed with a top coat, and done!

What do you think?
